Purple Archive Indian Madras
Gender: Men
Season: SS26
A Gitman Vintage spring/summer collection is never complete without archival Madras fabrics. This style, however, is remade from a fabric archived at our partner mill in Chennai (formerly Madras), India. Although we don't know the exact year that this fabric was originally introduced, we've been told it dates to the 80's. Just like the original fabric, this style is completely handwoven with hand-dyed yarns, and features a small amount of slub throughout. And the best part of all? The oversized scale of the plaid and rich colors are superb indicators of this fabric's origins. Even 40 years ago, Madras was ahead of its time. Design Construction - Barrel Cuffs - 18 stitches per inch - Tacked, V-stitch chest pocket - Flat felled seams - 4.5" adjustable sleeve gauntlet - Extra thick chalk buttons - Split Yoke - Unlined collar and cuffs - Rear collar button - Lined placket - Locker Loop - Pre-washed, pre-shrunk - Rear center box pleat - Made with love in the USA Formal or casual, tucked or untucked, our easy-wearing shirts are an obvious choice for all occasions.
