Koi Pond Sashiko

Created at our Japanese partner mill, the Koi Pond Sashiko combines a traditional Japanese water garden scene with heritage sashiko stitching. Producing this fabric, unsurprisingly, is a laborious process. It starts as a pure white lightweight Oxford woven on century-old looms. Once woven and inspected, it receives sashiko stitching that runs lengthwise throughout the fabric. After another inspection, the koi pond motif is added using screen printing techniques. This multi-step process imbues this fabric with a striking quality not found on anything else we offer. Swatch size is 5" x 5" | 100% Cotton
