Jamaican Bandana carries deep cultural and historical resonance, and we are honored to incorporate it through our collaboration with Nicholas Daley. Though its origins trace back to the mills of Madras in India, the fabric’s true significance begins with its arrival in Jamaica in the nineteenth century. First worn as a lightweight cloth by laborers, it gradually evolved into a powerful symbol of national identity and pride. It's closely tied to figures like Miss Lou and to Jamaica’s national costume, and its iconic red plaid now holds associations with resilience, creativity, and cultural continuity.
