Black Japanese Checked Twill

If there’s one thing the Japanese excel at, it’s reimagining heritage designs through their own distinct vision. That philosophy resonates deeply with us at GV, which is why we’re so often drawn to Japanese-woven fabrics. In this case, our partner mill reinterpreted a humble checked twill stark black and white, a nod to vintage fabrics from the 1950's. With an understated achromatic design, we love this shirt for layering. Finishing things off, medium-gauge, high-spin yarns give the motif crisp definition, while a light brushing raises the fibers just enough to create a soft, comfortable hand.
