One of two textile designs in our collaboration with the estate of renowned architect and designer Alexander Girard, Arabesque (1954) embodies Girard’s exploration into fabric weaving and color. The design was originally developed by Girard during his tenure as the Head of Fabric and Textile Division at Herman Miller and has been used in countless applications from upholstery to wallpaper. To continue Girard’s emphasis of quality craftsmanship, we had Arabesque meticulously reengineered by one of our Italian partner mills on a midweight 100% cotton brocade. Each color was matched to their original tones and the weave structure was kept consistent with Girard’s original textile blueprint. Tucked or untucked, our long sleeve button downs can be easily dressed up or worn casually for any occasion.
